Library Board
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Powhatan County Public Library is to acquire, organize, provide access and offer guidance to a broad range of information, materials, and services and to encourage their use to help fulfill the intellectual, educational, social, cultural, community, and recreational needs of all people in the County.
How the Board is Chosen:
Each member of the Powhatan County Board of Supervisors appoints a
Library Board member from their district to represent their constituents
for a term of four years. Thereafter, all six may be reappointed for
consecutive terms. Service on the Library Board is strictly voluntary:
members receive no salary, but are reimbursed for expenses from the
library funds.

Library Board Meeting Schedule:
The Library Board of Trustees meets at 9 a.m. the second Wednesday of
every month at the Powhatan County Public Library, 2270 Mann Rd.,
Powhatan.
